Today, our under-16 boys had their 3rd round Cup match against Hertford HC. It was a slow start for Walden as they conceded an early goal in the first 5 minutes, but they managed to keep the score 1-0 in the first half with some great saves from Asher.

The second half started quickly for Walden with them getting an early goal from a short corner from Oscar. Throughout the second half, the boys kept the pressure on Hertford and Oscar managed to get his second goal with 15 minutes left, placing it in the bottom corner. With 5 minutes of the match left, Hertford kept pressurising, winning 4 short corners, but our strong defence managed to keep them out. In the last 2 minutes of the game, Hertford scored a drag flick into the top corner which ended the game 2-2.

However, the boys were very confident as they went into shuffles. The final shuffles score was 3-2 to Walden with Asher being the hero!
